Class 1 – Healthy Choices/Healthy Snacks – January 25, 2025
In this fun and interactive class, kids will explore the basics of good nutrition and healthy food choices! We’ll start with a short discussion on how to make balanced choices, followed by hands-on activities at three different stations where they can create and taste their own healthy snack and meal choices. This class lays the foundation for Classes 2 and 3, but each session is designed to stand alone, so kids are welcome to join any class in the series.
Class 2 – One Pot Meals you can have on Sunday – February 15, 2025
In this class, we’ll build on what we learned in Class 1 with a fun, hands-on experience! We’ll take a field trip to McDonough’s Market, where the kids will choose fresh vegetables, protein, and a starch to create a delicious one-pot or one-pan meal. Along the way, they’ll learn essential cooking techniques and practice teamwork as they prepare a shared dish together. Each participant will get to taste what they’ve made before the class ends—and they’ll bring home a serving to share with their family!
Class 3 – Breakfast anytime – March 15, 2025
In this “Breakfast Anytime” class, kids will learn why a nutritious start to the day is essential for fueling our bodies, minds, and spirits. We’ll talk about the importance of sleep, exercise, and balanced nutrition in a healthy routine. Together, they’ll prepare delicious, easy-to-make breakfasts like yogurt parfaits, overnight oats, and other quick, grab-and-go options. Each recipe is designed to be both nourishing and convenient, setting them up for success every day!
